We all agree the fight against bathroom grime is endless. Our sparkling faucets and streak-free tiles remain clean only until someone takes a shower.
Cleaning your bathroom tiles regularly ensures buildup doesn’t become permanent. It also combats lingering germs and bacteria, ensuring you stay healthy.
At Yourson Construction, we specialize in bathroom tiling restoration in Albuquerque. We’ve seen our share of soap scum and hard water deposits. When you need cleaning and restoration support, give us a call.
Here are our tips to help you keep your tile looking like new.
Our experts recommend thoroughly cleaning your tiles at least once a week. This helps keep soap scum, grime, and hard water deposits from damaging your tiles.
To boost your efforts, it’s also recommended to wipe down your tiles with a squeegee or towel after every shower, or anytime they get wet.
You’ll need to have these items to clean your bathroom tiles effectively.
Mix these ingredients and add them to your spray bottle:
Special Note: Don’t use white vinegar if you have travertine or stone tiles. Vinegar’s acidity damages these materials. Opt for warm water and dish soap mixed in a spray bottle.
Thoroughly spray your tiles and let the solution sit for 10 minutes. If you’re concerned about the solution puddling, place a towel on the floor.
In circular motions, brush the tile and grout to remove thickened soap scum, hard water deposits, and remaining buildup.
Rinse all of your tiles with warm water. Warm water helps loosen any remaining grime during the rinsing process. You must complete this step thoroughly. Otherwise, the solution will leave a film on your tiles.
If you have a squeegee, you can use that first before wiping up all the water with a towel. Make sure your tiles are completely dried before you’re done.
Even with a thorough cleaning, you may still have stains on your bathroom tiles.
To remove these stains, try making this solution:
Mix these together to form a thick paste. Next, dip your hard bristled brush into the solution and use circular motions over the stained areas.
Baking soda effectively removes stains and mildew while deodorizing your bathroom.
Using these techniques weekly helps you keep your bathroom tile clean, sparkling, and fresh!
